You can view any file in the archive by first extracting this file and then
opening it through Windows Explorer (My Computer) or directly in your preferred
viewer or editor. However, PowerZip can do all of this for you with its
View/Edit feature. The View/Edit feature extracts the selected files into a
temporary folder and then invokes the viewer or editor of your choice.
To use the View/Edit
feature :
-
Open an archive by using the Open button on
PowerZip's toolbar
-
Select one or more files that you wish to view or
edit
-
Press Enter
-
PowerZip will extract the files and try to launch the viewer associated
with each of the extracted files.
-
If no program is associated with the type of file being viewed, PowerZip
will try to open that file using the default viewer (which you can specify in
the Settings dialog box).
-
If no default view is specified, PowerZip will try to open the file using
QuickView.
-
If QuickView is not installed, PowerZip will open the file in
Notepad.
or if you would like to choose the viewer:
-
Open an archive by using the Open button on
PowerZip's toolbar
-
Select one or more files that you wish to view or
edit
- Click on the View/Edit button on the toolbar
- The View dialog box will be shown
- You can then choose to either use the associated viewer, the default
viewer or choose a viewer from the list of configured viewers
NOTE: You can use the Program Locations tab of the Settings
Dialog box (File -> Settings) to configure viewers
Updating the archive:
If you change the files you viewed using the View/Edit feature,
you can update the archive with the new files by selecting Update Archive from
the Actions menu.
